Stallion Performance Test

Stallion Performance Test

At the licensing, the stallions are primarily judged for conformation and structure.

The evaluation of the free jumping provides the only information on own performance. The stallion performance test was converted into a multi-stage points system at the beginning of 2025.

As part of this new stallion performance test concept, stallion owners will have the opportunity to present their stallions or have them tested in 50-day performance tests, shortened assessment tests (Veranlagungsprüfung - kurz) or stallion tournament tests (HLP-Wertungsprüfungen).

Information on stallion performance testing

A stallion can be registered into the Holsteiner Verband stallion book I in his third year at the earliest, provided that he qualifies by pedigree and has been stallion-graded by the Holsteiner Verband. The final registration depends on the stallion successfully completing performance testing.

As part of the new stallion performance test concept, stallion owners have the opportunity to present their stallions or have them tested in 50-day performance tests, assessment tests (short) or stallion tournament tests. The 50-day performance tests and the assessment tests (short) are entered as usual via the FN registration portal. Entries for the HLP tournament tests are made via NennungOnline.

After the stallions have been delivered to the testing location, the current schedules and catalogs will be made available for download on the website.
