This large-framed stallion impresses the observer with his power and expression. The sporty Clarimo son convinces with his typical Holstein movement.
Trot and canter are characterised by tact and great ground cover. Jumping is his world. His ability in combination with his excellent reactions made him an exceptional jumper with the best prerequisites.
Crunch will be available at the Badendorf station in live cover for the 2026 season.
“Ability never goes out of fashion”– this is one of famous horseman Paul Schockemöhle’s indisputable key concepts. Even though great ability is frequently known to go along with somewhat reduced carefulness and respect, this does not apply to Crunch, as he stands out for his carefulness as well as his ability. His careful jumping might well be down to his breeding, as Clearway, Cantus and in particular Caletto II, a stallion Crunch carries on both sides, have a reputation to pass on their jumping quality with great reliability.
Crunch embodies many aspects of the archetypal Holsteiner jumper – big-framed, with a big canter, lots of ability, carefulness and fighting spirit. He is expected to pass on his jumping ability, first and foremost. Considering he is hardly a refining stallion, he should be bred to elegant, leggy mares with a well-constructed, compact top-line to produce horses suited for future market requirements. Traits like strength, energy and jumping talent are firmly established in Crunch’s genetic make-up.

Sire
Same as Crunch, his sire Clarimo has international results at 1,60m under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson which include winning the Falsterbo grand prix in 2016. Clarimo is a force to be reckoned with also as a breeding stallion, with high-profile international show jumping offspring like Bardolina (Mario Deslauriers) and Chardonnay (Max Kühner).
Damline
Crunch’s dam Shamrock I, a big-framed Canturo daughter, stands out for her excellent canter. She also produced the highestpriced lot of the 2014 Neumünster auction, Dito by Diarado, which was sold to successful international show jumper Chris Chugg, the former rider of Vivant, at 110,000 euros. Having already performed convincingly at S level with Chris Chugg at eight-year-old, he is since September 2018 shown in classes through 1.60m by Denis Lynch.
Crunch’s 2nd dam, Herzdame II, also produced the international jumper Lakey by Lasino, ridden by Canada’s Christina Mailin,
and the successful S level jumper Ragnarök 2 by Lavaletto.
Personal contribution of Crunch
Sports success
At 5- and 6-year-old, he placed 3rd at the Elmshorn State Championships; moreover, he qualified for the Warendorf National Championships in 2013 and 2014 and won five young horse jumping classes at M level in 2014. At seven, he had first results in jumping classes at S level under Maximilian Gräfe.
Crunch has been at Rolf-Göran Bengtsson’s yard since September 2015, which was also his first showing season at international level. In 2016, the stallion was placed in international youngster classes to S level, for example at the Hamburg, Knokke and Lier horse shows.
The matured stallion’s 2017 achievements under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson include 4th place at the Herning international grand prix (1.50m) and the Münster CSI4*, respectively, as well as other excellent results in 1.50m level classes. In 2018, the combination made the jump to international top level and placed in the Paris, Valkenswaard and Rome legs of the Global Champions Tour. At the Herning CSI3*, Crunch won a class at 1.50m and placed second in the grand prix. Following a fall in the stable, Crunch had to bring his sporting career to an end.

Offspring of Crunch
Crunch sport horse offspring are continuing to prove themselves in competition, in particular due to their jumping ability. Rasmus Lüneburg has as many as two Crunch daughters at his yard, seven-year-old Crunchy, who has already chalked up several S level placings as well as Chill ma, with several wins and placings in young horse classes to M level. Another Crunch daughter, Chilli, was highly placed in international 1.40m classes last season.
