On Saturday evening, we knew for sure: Conchezz is the 2024 Holsteiner champion stallion. This son of Colestus out of a Caretino-Silvester dam bred by Sören von Rönne (Neuendeich) and exhibited by Manfred von Allwörden, changed hands through the subsequent auction, realizing 200,000 euros. The grey stallion from mare family 6688 stood out for his powerful push-off and impressive athleticism. “Conchezz presented himself as a super modern jumping horse with big proportions, loads of ability, striking presence and quick reflexes. A Holsteiner show jumper for the sport“, the celebrated champion stallion was described by breed director Stephan Haarhoff.
Runner-up Casotoki
Casotoki by Casolo-Catoki-Balou du Rouet was named reserve champion of the age group by the grading committee comprising Stephan Haarhoff, Horst-Klaus Heleine, Lars Nieberg, Christian Thoroe, Matthias Wittke and this year’s commentator, Jens Fredericson. The seal bay, a crowd favourite, was among the top jumpers of the entire group. According to Stephan Haarhoff’s recap, “Casotoki embodies excellent stallion type and was presented to us perfectly groomed and produced”. The stallion bred and owned by Tjark Witt was not for sale.
Attention Please by Acodetto-Diego de Semilly-Calido, bred and owned by Hof Thormählen (Kollmar) was chosen as second reserve champion stallion. The appealing stallion from mare family 3615 impressed with light-footed movement and great athleticism. He is to be based at Maas J. Hell stallion station in in Klein Offensetz, which had already stood his sire Acodetto, same as his second and third sire. The premium lot also includes Zuckerblue by Zirocco Blue-Cascadello I-Contender, mare family 2453, a bay bred by breeding partnership Oldekop and exhibited by Tjark and Marten Witt. Also Keaton II by Kannan-Contendro I-Ritual (Rudolf Schmitt, Wesselburener Deichhausen), mare family 4847, co-owned by his breeder and the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH was awarded the coveted premium title. “The top tier of the age top group was exceptional, with the premium lot impressively combining type, movement, and jumping ability. Moreover, many stallions showed an above average trot this year. This means we are living up to our aspirations, the breeding of show jumpers with above average basic gaits in Holstein“, the breed director summed up the 2024 licensing.
