Awesome Holsteiner Horses – on 28 October it is time for the Elite Riding Horse Auction!

On Saturday, 28 October 2023, 30 talented Holsteiners are about to find new owners through the riding horse hybrid auction sale. So there is still time to have a look at the horses on offer, to test them under saddle and prepare yourself for the auction under the motto “Holstein Meets Italy”, held as part of the Holsteiner autumn event at Elmshorn.

On Friday evening (27 October) at 5:30pm, the horses are presented for the last time, live at Elmshorn or live-streamed via ClipMyHorse.tv. On the day of the auction, there are still last-minute trying out opportunies in the morning, before the auction kicks off at 6:00pm on Saturday. Regardless whether you are looking for an already experienced horse with placings in competition to get up and collect ribbons with or plan on producing your future champion yourself – the elite collection holds a suitable candidate for you. Like for example lot 108, Cornelius by Cascadello I-Catoki, from a legendary Holsteiner family, with the five-year-old tracing back to no less than exceptional horse and Olympic gold medallist, Fein Cera by Landadel (Peter Wylde/USA). Moreover, Cornelius has won young horse jumping classes to 1.20m level. His first presentation met with acclaim and appreciative looks: Fien Jung (lot 119) is Oldenburg international-approved and placed in ridden classes at three-year-old. The stallion puts up an impressive performance and is about to follow in the hoof steps of his successful relatives, including for example Bombalurina by Lenz (Karin Ernsting/GER), with placings at 1.50m level, Dolce Vita de Longines by Contender (Ignace Philips de Vuyst/BEL) or Atletico Z by Allez-Y Z (Agustin Covarrubias/CHL). Very interesting with regard to a sport and stud career, is this daughter of Million Dollar: lot 125, Leandra (damsire: Quidam de Revel) has already chalked up several wins in young horse jumping classes. She represents mare family 18A2 and her second dam’s produce includes former Holsteiner champion stallion, Quvee Prestige, same as Deleyn by Larimar, shown by Shane Sweetnam (IRL) at 1.60m level and another maternal sister to Leandra’s dam. Merci (lot 124) is also by Million Dollar, and the second dam is no other than Holstein’s most successful active broodmare: Online IX by Quinar bears the title Holsteiner Mare of the Year 2023 and her produce includes the licensed stallion Pikeur Carre by Cassini II same as the 1.60m level mare, Greece by Mylord Carthago (Teike Carstensen/GER). Maybe M (lot 129) is an athletic daughter of United Way out of a Diarado dam and was already placed in young horse jumping classes. The direct dam line of this four-year-old from mare family 4847 has also produced Jérôme Guéry’s (BEL) Olympic icon, Quel Homme de Hus. As much as two horses qualified for the national championships: six-year-old Kannan-Carpaccio offspring Kai (lot 120) placed at 1.30m level several times, as did the collection’s second Warendorf-qualified horse, five-year-old Uricas W by Uriko-Cassiano (lot 132).

Any important information, same as videos and photos of all horses is available online on www.holsteiner.auction. The auction sale is held in a hybrid format at Elmshorn on 28 October 2023 at 6:00pm, as part of the autumn event also involving the stallion grading under saddle, a short ability assessment and stallion sport tests.
