At the start of the Stallion Days and Spring Auction: Two New Sires Approved

The starting signal for the first Holsteiner stallion days and the spring auction was given at midday today. An event in which licensing, stallion presentation and auction go hand in hand. To kick off the new event, two three-year-old stallions received their breeding licences from Stephan Haarhoff, Christian Thoroe and Matthias Wittke. The collection of the 38th spring auction was then presented to the public. Further highlights tomorrow are the first joint presentation of private and Verband stallions as well as the auction of riding horses and three-year-olds.

Two horses were able to impress at the saddle licensing. One was the three-year-old Checker Boy by Checkter-Presley Boy, bred by Hartmut Knop (Gilde) and owned by Karlswood Stabels (IRL-Batterstown). Breeding director Stephan Haarhoff emphasised the modernity, the light foundation, the good topline and of course the jumping of the grey stallion from the 1298 line, who was trained by Linn Rolf and Kai Thomsen. Explosion by Eldorado by Zeshoek-Contender from Zuchtgemeinschaft Lüneburg in Hetlingen was also approved for breeding. Owner Rasmus Lüneburg presented the large-framed bay, a representative of the 8763 line, himself. "An incredibly long-legged stallion who perhaps still needs to grow into his body a little, but who has proven his boundless ability in free jumping," said Haarhoff.

The excitement continues on Saturday (23 March): From 13:00, breeders and interested parties will have the opportunity to get to know the 35 or so stallions presented from all stations at the stables, find out more and discuss pairings for the 2024 breeding season. The stallion presentation will then continue at 3.00 pm. The Ahlmann, von Allwörden, Bengtsson and Fromberger stables, Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH, Maas J. Hell, Rödl and Völz will be represented. The stallion owners Lauck, Voss, Witt as well as the Celle State Stud and the Neustadt/Dosse Main and State Stud will also be there. Spectators can look forward to seeing Holsteiner champion stallions, premium and Bundeschampionat finalists as well as sires with international successes. The presentation is an exclusive live event, as it will not be streamed, but will be available in the ClipMyHorse.tv media centre one day later. After the stallions, the hall will once again belong to the auction horses when the hybrid auction begins at around 6.30 pm. The socialising continues afterwards at the After Auction Party. Tickets for the stallion presentation are available from just 5 euros - these are available online via eventim and at the box office. Admission to the auction is free. Tickets for the event are still available and a look at the stallion presentation catalogue shows which sires will be taking part.
