Münster-Handorf sport test: Holsteiner stallions shine
Tags

The four- and five-year old young stallions with Holsteiner pedigree papers performed well in the jumping oriented stallion sport test.

Receiving the final weighted mark 9.78, the Verband stallion Chezarro by Casall-Conteur (Gabriele Kowalski, Stadum), was the clear winner in the five-year-old category. And the other three participating Verband stallions also delivered: Corfu de la Vie by Cumano-Lord (Haras de la Vie, Köwacht), Stamm 741, completed the test with a final mark 8.36, whereas Keaton by Kannan-Contendro I (Rudolf Schmitt, Wörden), mare family 4847, was given 9.06, the third best result in the test. 8.96 was the final mark awarded to Charaktervoll by Comme il faut-Contendo I (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), mare family 474A. Find more information and videos of the Verband stallions’ tests here.

The four-year-old group saw for example Valenzano by Vagabond de la Pomme-Christian (Kai Wullweber, Todesfelde), mare family 6582, perform as a “smooth and sufficiently careful jumper with good push off. He was always cooperative and with a good connection to his rider.” An overview of all results (four-year-olds):

Four additional Holsteiners as well as the Holsteiner-approved Hanoverian stallion For Friendship VDL all completed the five-year-old test with good results: Like for example Coquetto by Cornet Obolensky-Casquetto (Witt Pferdezucht Gbr, Wellinghusen), mare family 2067, as of late ridden by Hannes Ahlmann. “The stallion was presented very well, showing a consistently smooth performance he was super rideable and always focused on the jumps”, according to the judges’ assessment. Coquetto completed the test with a final weighted mark at 8.91. For Carsten by For Pleasure-Cannavaros (Carsten Lauck, Pinneberg), mare family 6691, received the final mark 8.33, while the judges described him as a “highly responsive horse, very strong, with his sights always on the jumps”.
