London and JL Dublin win Team Gold, Individual Bronze for London

The British team lived up to their role as favourites after their brilliant performances right at the start of the Olympic eventing and secured gold. The team included London by Landos-Quinar (Ocke Riewerts, Föhr), Stamm 3200, and Laura Collett as well as JL Dublin by Diarado-Canto (Volker Götsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald). Diarado-Canto (Volker Götsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald), line 1907, and Tom McEwen. The Japanese bronze team included Jeffersen by Jaquino-Colman (Udo Wagner, Angermünde), line 2554, with Toshiyuki Tanaka. The pair had been substituted before the jumping competition and secured the medal with a faultless performance in the course after a team-mate had retired.

London had one knockdown in the final jumping competition for the team, which meant he finished third in the individual final. JL Dublin jumped without any faults, so he started the all-important final competition from fourth place individually.

Nickel by Numero Uno-Lorentin I (Hindrick Stüvel, Rosengarten), Stamm 4303, with Julia Krajewski, also delivered a super Olympic debut, remaining clear (-0.4 for time) and taking eleventh place to qualify for the individual final of the best 25.

Individual bronze for London, JL Dublin fourth and Nickel eleventh

After team gold, London also jumped to the individual bronze medal with Laura Collett. The pair have been a team for seven years, won the five-star competition in Luhmühlen last year and were also part of the British gold team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

JL Dublin and Tom McEwen (GBR) also presented themselves excellently and secured fourth place in the individual classification. Julia Krajewski also had every reason to smile: her Nickel could not have mastered his Olympic debut any better. The gelding does not yet have much experience at this level, but had recently impressively demonstrated his quality with his victory in Aachen. In Paris, the pair finished the Games in eleventh place individually.
