Holsteiner Results: Coolio, Cloudio & Cashpaid J&F shine in Barcelona

Last weekend, the Nations Cup Final of the League of Nations took place in Barcelona, Spain. Representing Germany – alongside Sophie Hinners and Jörne Sprehe – were Marcus Ehning and Richard Vogel, both riding Holstein horses.

With two clear rounds, which would also have deserved a style prize, Marcus Ehning and his World Championship horse Coolio by Casalito-Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Hohenzieritz), line 2067, demonstrated their true class.

However, a slight knockdown in the second round by Richard Vogel and his Cloudio by Casall-Cassini II (Heike Arendt, Sollwitt), line 5889 – the most successful horse in the entire LLN series – meant a jump-off against the Brazilians was necessary. “Unfortunately, I let him down a bit in the second round – I was too far away at an oxer, and he touched the rear bar,” said Richard Vogel, taking responsibility for the mistake.

In the decisive jump-off, Vogel and Cloudio kept all the poles down – victory for Germany! Second place ultimately went to the Brazilians. And in this team too, there was a horse from the country between the seas that jumped a double clear round: Cashpaid J&F by Casall-Chicago (Hans-Hermann Gempf, Stelle) and João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes de Lima.
