“Elmshorn is a Must” – Holsteiner Horse Days Begin on Thursday!

Having placed in the top ten at the German Championships of the female jumping riders in Balve last weekend, Paula de Boer-Schwarz is now headed for the Holsteiner horse days at Elmshorn this week. From 13 – 16 Juni they will provide a worthy setting for the Holsteiner state championships, auctions, the Verband mare show and advanced level show jumping and dressage classes.

“Elmshorn is a must“, says Paula de Boer-Schwarz. “I am very much looking forward to starting my young horses here. It’s always a special treat for the breeders and owners to see their horses in this setting and Elmshorn is just the place where Holsteiner fans come together“, the equestrian is certain. Having frequently shown at international level over these past months – she competed successfully at horse shows such as Neumünster, Redefin and Hamburg – she can’t wait to see how her younger horses will present themselves. Paula de Boer-Schwarz will perform in the dressage as well as the jumping saddle at Elmshorn. “In view of the wide outdoor arenas, the conditions couldn’t be any better. I’ll bring along really good horses – for some of them this will be their first ever outing in competition and with others I’m definitely going to strike”, she says with a smile.

Thursday to Sunday – Holstein at its best
On Thursday, 13 June, the dressage classes kick off the event, with the qualifiers for the national championships and the state championships for five- and six-year-old dressage horses taking place from 9.00am. In the evening there is advanced level sport in the dressage arena. On Friday, 14 June, it’s time for the first qualifiers in the show jumping arena. The presentation of the riding horse auction lots at 4.00pm and a jumping class at S* level from 5.00pm, followed by the Welcome Night, set the mood for a varied weekend. From 8.00am on Saturday morning (14 June), after the exciting final tests, the award ceremonies of the four- and seven-year-old state champions are held and at 11.30am the auction foals are presented live in the Herbert-Blöcker-outdoor arena, before the auction of the riding horses and foals starts at 3.00pm. After the evening has again been perfected by advanced level sport in the show jumping arena from 6.00pm, the athletes will change their breeches for shorts in the volleyball tournament. On Sunday, 16 June, the best Holsteiner mares of this year’s registration sites come together to determine their “queens”. 37 mares have made the cut and will compete for a jumping and a dressage oriented winner. In addition to this, a particularly successful Holsteiner broodmare is awarded the title “Holsteiner mare of the year“. The final classes of the state championships are scheduled for 1.00pm (five-year-olds) and 3.00pm (six-year-olds).

Live and in the flesh!
The foal and riding horse auction lots are already online on www.holsteiner.auction: 28 young talents have made it into this year’s foal auction selection; marketing boss Felix Flinzer’s riding horse lot comprises five talented jumpers in the four to six year age bracket, many of them already with high placings and wins in young horse jumping classes. In favour of the on-site experience, the Holsteiner horse days will not be live streamed, even though all rides are available in the ClipMyHorse.tv media library after the event. The presentations of the foals and riding horses and the auction are broadcast live on ClipMyHorse.tv. Admission to the entire event is free. The Holsteiner Verband team is looking forward to your visit!
