Winter Chance: Auction Collection is Online

Last year’s Holsteiner Winter Chance staged a successful premiere in the Elmshorn Fritz Thiedemann arena, with the auctioning of 70 odd horses which have been enjoying noticeable success with their new owners. Even though the Corona situations calls for an online-only auction sale this year, they are taking centre stage again: outstanding future sport partners, experienced competition horses, and, for the first time, broodmares carrying high-quality bloodlines. On 12 and 13 December, 48 horses are put to auction – and pedigrees, pics and videos of the entire lot are now open for online reviewing.

Divided in two groups, the offers are to be auctioned to new owners on 12 and 13 December, respectively. Providing an opportunity for real-time bidding, the holsteiner.auction portal has become established for online auctions this year. Bids can be placed from 10 December already. It is advisable to register in advance, unless you have not already registered for a previous auction sale. The presentation of each group of horses on the day of the auction is broadcast by ClipMyHorse.TV via live stream in the morning, while the bid on – the crucial phase of most intensive bidding – starts at 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Stallions like Casall, Cornet Obolensky or Dinken as well as Cash and Carry are represented by offspring, but also stallions like Million Dollar, Balou du Rouet, Comme il faut or Vagabond de la Pomme send interesting offspring. The candidates of the second Holsteiner Winter Chance not only come from thoroughly-bred mare families, but quite a few are out of dams successfully shown to S level themselves, like for example lot no 4, Mr. Obolensky M. by Cornet Obolensky-Baloubet du Rouet, mare family 2269: His dam, V-Miss Baloubet boast own placings to international 1.45m level and has already produced a jumper to 1.40m level. Or lot no 29, Calina by Calinello-Capitol I, mare family 5064: Her dam, Genua V shone in 1.40m level competitions whereas her second dam, Zange, has produced several show jumpers successfully shown to 1.60m level.  Lot no 13, Fabienne II by Clinton-Quinar, mare family 6786, is in foal to Casanova de Beaufour and has already produced a foal by Diamant de Semilly, which sold through the Holsteiner auction last year. She has been awarded district premium status and seen her jumping ability graded 9.5 in the mare performance test. The mare family has produced several show jumpers successfully shown to 1.45m level. Lot no 25, Ipanema by Caracho-Carentan, mare family 2543, same as lot 33, Jolanda by Leovisto-Cassini I, stem 18B1, boast placings at age-appropriate 1.10m level, lot 43, Sputnik by Sandro Boy-Quintero, mare family 3401, has placed to 1.20m.

Some of the promising candidates which had been part of the premiere 2019 auction have already been living up to expectations since: Charissa by Clarimo-Casall, mare family 104A, has several placing to S** level under multiple German youth champion, Sven Gero Hünicke, by now. Chicharito LS by Fergar Mail FS-Carthago, stem 8568, is collecting ribbons at international level to 1.50m, while the younger horses, like for example Action Alf (ex Amperio) by Adagio de Talma-Larimar, stem 2137, are successfully shown at age-appropriate level in young horse jumping classes, same as five-year-old Picasso vd Zwartbleshoeve by Cornet Obolensky-Zidane, knocked down to Argentinian jumping rider José Maria Larocca and currently produced by Nadine Kassner. Moreover, some of the mares sold through last year’s auction have been mare performance tested with very good result by now.

While the bid on for the auctions starts on 12 and 13 December, online bids can be placed via holsteiner.auction already from 10 December 2020. Do not hesitate to contact Roland Metz (+49 171 4364 651), as he will be happy to answer any questions regarding the auction event as well as the horses.
