An exceptional horse show was celebrated with an as exceptional Holsteiner foal collection: The foals offered at Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and Christoph Zimmermann’s CSI Hof Waterkant in Pinneberg were much sought-after – leading the way a young stallion prospect in a class of his own: Cornet’s Way (lot 4) by Cornet Obolensky, with German buyers paying 50,000 euros for this impressive young colt.
The half-brother to high flyer Uricas v/d Kattevennen by Uriko was bred by Hartwig Schoof (Hedwigenkoog) and was as impressive for his gorgeous appearance as his relatives’ excellent performance record, seeing that he and his famous half-brother, who took home the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Riesenbeck with Harrie Smolders just recently, have Chika’s Way as their second dam: in her time, the mare enjoyed great success in the show jumping arena under the saddle of host Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann. Also lot 2, Rarität SR, realized a very good price, 31,000 euros. This rare Carthago daughter exhibited by SR Sportpferde of Leipzig has found a new home in Lower Saxony. The dam to lot 15, El Ganador by Eldorado van de Zeshoek (Hans Borßim, Wattenbek), boasts considerable own performance: impressed by Orlanda’s collection of ribbons up to 1.60m level with Hans-Thorben Rüder, Spanish clients invested 30,000 euros in El Ganador. Not only the new owners of lot 1 are happy about the filly knocked down at 24,000 euros: Coco Chanel by Carrera VDL was bred by Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann with the auction proceeds donated to Skill Up!, a Welthungerhilfe initiative providing career-related training to about 21,000 young women and men.
Visibly pleased with the auction sale, auction manager Felix Flinzer extended his thanks to Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and Christoph Zimmermann for the good cooperation. He feels certain that “the CSI Hof Waterkant is just the perfect horse show. You get to see awesome sport, and everybody involved benefits from the painstakingly thought through concept. For us, our breeders, and their foals this atmospheric event has been a great platform for the auction. Moreover, the resulting mean price of about 24,600 euros speaks for itself.”
