“We have seen an exceptional crop in 2021, and some of the foals have already changed hands through one the Holsteiner auctions“, says Holsteiner marketing manager Roland Metz. “The online foal auction sale on 18 September is meant as a stage in particular for those born late in the year.”
The online foal auction lot comprises 26 foals, with the lots attraction attention once again with their impressive pedigrees: they are by young stallions like Keaton, Crack or Central Park, proven sires like Clarimo and Casall or international successful sport stallions like Uricas v/d Kattevennen and Zuccero. On the dams’ side, proven Holsteiner performance dam lines established over decades serve as security: the produce of the direct dam line of hip no 17, Carlton by Clarimo-Caretano Z, includes Nekton by Nimmerdor, Lamarque by Limbus (Patrick Stühlmeyer/GER), a jumper successfully shown to 1.55 m, as well as Otto Becker’s Cento by Capitol I. The mare family of hip no 21, Comtesse by Clarimo-Loutano, has produced among others the 1.60m show jumper Cantano by Canturo (Mikhail Shemshelev/RUS) or La Ramm by Lancer II (Janine Rijkens/NED). The lot also caters to friends of the Holsteiner dressage horse as the collection also includes dressage orientated foals like for example hip no 18, Omelly FP by For Romance-Krack, same as 22, Step to the Moon by Sezuan’s Donnerhall-Dream of Glory. Omelly FP boasts famous relatives: no other than Helen Langehanenberg’s Annabelle, reserve for the Tokyo Olympics and recent team gold medallist at the dressage Europeans. “We have set great store by high quality dam lines when selecting the foals “, says Roland Metz, who advises prospective buyers to register online in good time for the start of the auction. While the bidding begins on Thursday 16 September from 12 noon, the so-called bid-up starts on Saturday 18 September from 6pm. This last phase is the most exciting, with each bid for a foal extending the auction time for the lot in question by two minutes.
