Holstein’s Treasure Chest – Secure Precious Genes Via Frozen Semen Today

What do Cor de la Bryere, Carthago, Corrado I Cassini I, Caretino, Quidam de Revel, Baloubet du Rouet, For Pleasure, Quick Star and Big Star have in common? Well, on the one hand, some of them used to be Olympic or World cup winners, championship icons and international calibre jumping horses themselves. And on the other hand, they have passed on exceptional performance to their offspring in the most impressive way.  Others, such as Contender or Concerto II, have left a lasting mark as successful and sought-after sires without a sporting career of their own. For many of these stallions, semen is not or only scarcely available today. This does not apply to the first Holsteiner Verband frozen semen auction:  the bid-up for 25 straws by these stallions – almost all of them with an ICSI permit – starts today, on 3 June. Today, starting 6:00pm, anybody dreaming about breeding a horse like Carthago, Mylord Carthago, Corradina, Clinton, Casall, Quel Homme de Hus, Chaman, Ornellaia or Big Star, is given the rare opportunity, to purchase the frozen semen of the sires of these exceptional horses at auction.
