Finally, a highlight on the calendar right up the alley of the friends of the Holsteiner horse: the Holsteiner stallion grading and elite riding horse auction sale held on 28-30 October. With the valid Schleswig-Holstein state order allowing full capacity in the Holstenhalls, this year’s group of colts to undergo grading and the hand-picked riding horses of the elite auction on 30 October will certainly draw a crowd – and the lot is now online.
Marketing manager Roland Metz and his team have selected 45 high-quality auction candidates, ranging from three-year-old uncut diamond to five-year-old ready-to-compete show jumper. The lot to be presented to the public on Friday evening (29 October) at Neumünster also comprises sport partners for ambitious amateurs, Holsteiner eventing talents, as well as two bright prospects for the dressage arena. Take for example hip no 102, Bentley by Barcley-Acobat II. This appealing chestnut gelding has already been placed to 1.10m level and is a half-brother to Michael Jung’s fischerWild Wave, winner of team silver and individual fourth at the recent European eventing championships. Or hip no 111, Codo by Colman-Quidam de Revel. The grey born in 2016 qualified for the national championship this year and has won several jumping classes at 1.30m. Hip no 106 for example, Celio by Charleston-Leovist, is out of a dam with impressive own performance boasting show jumping results to 1.40m. The first public presentation of the auction horses is on Sunday, 10 October from 2.00pm at Elmshorn. Following the first presentation until the last day of training at the Elmshorn facility on 23 October at 9.00am, the lots can be tried out under saddle any time upon prior arrangement. The last opportunity to test the horses over the jump is on Monday, 25 October before they are put to auction on Saturday, 30 October.
