Holstein meets Italy: Elite Riding Horse Auction with Top Offerings in Mediterranean...

Once again, the focus of the Holsteiner Verband autumn event on 27 and 28 October at Elmshorn is on horses with tremendous athleticism. In addition to the grading under saddle, the short ability assessment and the stallion sport test, the horse experts’ attention is drawn in particular to the Holsteiner elite riding horse auction held on Saturday, 28 October: 32 highly talented equine athletes in the 3-6 age bracket form the collection which is as of now available for online viewing on www.holsteiner.auction.

Once again, auction manager Felix Flinzer and his team have demonstrated their expertise when selecting the horses for auction, with some of them already boasting impressive results at age-appropriate level. Kannan-Carpaccio offspring Kai (lot 120) for instance qualified for the National championships. The six-year-old has placed at 1.30m level several times, same as the collection’s other Warendorf-qualified lot, five-year-old Uricas W by Uriko-Cassiano (lot 132). Million Dollar has seen a meteoric rise and is represented by two highly interesting daughters, one of them lot 123, Montenegra (damsire Clearway) – a big-framed mare with a scopey jump ready for first outings in competition, as well as Merci (damsire Con Air), lot 124. Second dam to this appealing four-year-old is no other than Holstein’s most successful active brood mare, Online IX by Quinar, with her produce including the licensed stallion Pikeur Carre by Cassini II, same as Teike Carstensen’s current top horse, the U25-jumping cup and 1.60m level winner, Greece by Mylord Carthago. And there is even more – also the very young up-and-coming talents just performing their first jumps under saddle are certain to spark and draw a lot of interest. One of them is lot 115, Nilla. Not only is she by Verband stallion, national champion and winner of the 2023 Warendorf grand prix, Crack by Cornet Obolensk, but her dam has also produced numerous international sport horses, including former national champion Lyjanair by Lyjanero, now successfully shown at 1.55m level by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. Or the charming Nightwish by Nixon van het Meulenhof-Uriko (lot 126). The produce of the dam to this modern, XL-sized gelding includes Verband stallion Zuccarello by Zuccero, and she is a half-sister to Crunch by Clarimo (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson) same as to Dito by Diarado (Denis Lynch).

First presentation on 8 October
Even though we could continue with the long list of the Holsteiner elite riding horses’ own and relative performance, a live impression of this collection should be much more convincing. The presentation of the horses on Sunday, 8 October at 3pm in the Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena at Elmshorn is also livestreamed by ClipMyHorse.tv. Afterwards the horses can be tried out until 28 October, when the auction starts at 6pm. The “Holstein meets Italy“-themed auction combines classic Holsteiner charm with Mediterranean cooking, music and the appropriate ambience. Entry is free. Felix Flinzer (phone +49 162-3493942) is happy to answer all your questions on the horses and the auction and how to try out the horses. All auction candidates are available for online viewing with photos, videos and information on relatives’ performance on www.holsteiner.auction
