Hoerup: Twin Peak in the Foal Sale and 40,500 Euros for Colman Daughter

Nine rigorously selected foals and four talented young jumping horses, some of them already with impressive showing results were put to sale in a hybrid auction during the Springflut festival in Hörup. The two most expensive foals were knocked down at 15,000 euros each, while the highest priced riding horse was Jassina by Colman-Casall, worth 40,500 euros to her new US American owners.

Having put together the lot along with the organizing team around horse show manager Stephan Johannsen, Holsteiner Verband executive director Roland Metz contentedly summed up the event: “I’m very happy our fist-time cooperation has proved such a success. The Springflut Festival is a valuable sporting event in Schleswig-Holstein“, Metz continued. “Many potential buyers from northern Germany, and thanks to the hybrid format from all over the world, have joined the event, either on-site in Hörup or else online.“ Hip no 6, Caesar by Clarimo-Colman, was knocked down at 15,000 euros to Lars Brunk from Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to his well-known sire the colt boasts a Holsteiner mare family with stud and sport merits (stem 318D2): the direct damline, bred for generations on the North Sea Island of Foehr, has produced a great number of championship contenders, including H&M Chilli Willi (Nicola Philippaerts), who died much before his time, Glock’s Cognac Champlanc (Gerco Schröder) or else Camiro (Tony Andre Hansen). The second top price was achieved by hip no 1, Chique by Cahil-Quibery, realizing 15,000 euros as well. The second dam of the filly from the Holsteiner mare family 890 by former champion stallion Cahil is a Colman daughter, Conella, who has produced not only the three licensed stallions Quabri, Uno I and Uno II, but also an Uriko offspring also called Uno currently successfully shown in the youngster tour at 1.40m level by Lena Glisic. Chique is to stay in Germany. Five of the nine foals were knocked down at at least 10,000 euros, resulting in an average of around 10,400 euros.

40,500 Euros for Colman Daughter
The exquisite four-strong riding horse collection was topped by hip no 103, Jassina by Colman-Casall, knocked down at 40,500 euros. Having come off to an impressive start by winning a young horse jumping class at her very first outing just some weeks ago, the five-year-old grey mare is now to continue her career in the USA. The second-most expensive lot was hip no 101, Coutinho by Cantesini-Cascari: the four-year-old grey from mare family 42B realized 38,000 euros and is to remain in Germany. The riding horses sold at an average price of 32,000 euros.

Children and Youth Hospice Given 7,000 Euros
The organizing team had also put some thought into charity: a small obstacle with the Springflut Festival design for children put to auction was bought at 7,000 euros by Natascha Püpke on behalf of the SENA Cura mobile nursing service. The out-patient children and youth hospice Flensburg will receive the proceeds.
