Spring Auction Sale: Prospects and Variety Times 33

Looking for a suitable horse for the green season or a promising prospect for high level sport? 33 top interesting horses are put up for auction sale via the Holsteiner spring auction held at Elmshorn on 25 March 2023.

The ridden horses are between four and seven years of age, and not only do they boast high-performing relatives but some of them already have own results in competition, like for example Mien Deern by Million Dollar-Caretino from famous mare family 318D2; she is out of One Star, and thus a maternal half-sister to Glock’s Cognac Champblanc (Gerco Schröder/ NED) and comes from the direct dam line which has produced international jumping horses like H&M Chilli Willi (Olivier Phillippaerts/BEL) or Camiro (Tino Andre Hansen/NOR). The six-year-old grey mare has already been shown in jumping classes to 1.15m level.  Another lot with an interesting pedigree is New Capitola by Balou du Rouet-Leovisto. This three-year-old is not only precious because of her sire, but – as indicated by her name – she also comes from mare family 173, the very branch of once-in-a-century stallion, Capitol. Or else Quibery-Lancer II daughter Itsy Bitsy, already successfully shown at international 1.25m level.  Her second dam has produced sport horses ranked up to 1.60m level, like for example Lancero (Vladimir Tuganov/PLE). The selection is also enriched by three-year-olds presented in the free jumping lane, among them offspring by big names like Balou du Rouet, Casall, Conthargos, Cornet Obolensky, Don VHP and Lux Z, same as progeny of younger stallions like Coquetto, Keaton and United Way from well-respected stud farm.  “The selection is characterized by great genetic variety”, says auction manager Felix Flinzer. “Moreover, some of them are already well trained and they should have a bright future in sport ahead.”

Live Presentation on 5 March
