Foal Auction Sale at the German Jumping Derby: In the Foot Steps of Derby Winners

Again, the organizers of the German Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg are making it possible for a hand-picked Holsteiner Verband foal selection to be put to auction on Thursday afternoon on 26 May.

All those live attending the first of these events in 2017 will certainly remember this barnstorming premiere as the auction went along with Casall’s sendoff and his winning the Global Champions Tour. Of course, also this instalment includes a Casall offspring. Some of the other nine foals, however, are by younger stallions who have also been attracting attention. For example there is United Derby, the young colt with hip no 5, an offer boasting loads of Derby connections through his sire, United Way by Uriko, same as through his dam, Feine Zera by Catoki, seeing that the dam of United Way, Carrasina by Concerto II (Thomas Kleis/2009), as well as the dam to Feine Zera, Zera by Cero (Pato Muente/2017), have won the German Jumping Derby, both. Another foal carries loads of Derby history in his veins as well, lot no 9, Collins Nephew. As indicated by the name, this son of national champion Crack comes from the mare family of Toni Hassmann’s three-time Derby winner, Collin by Contender, this stallion prospect’s dam being a full sister to Collin. The produce of this outstanding dam line rooted in Holsteiner mare family 4539 includes the famous Constant son, Chin Chin. In addition to these two great candidates, the lot includes eight other highly interesting foals. They are by Zuccero, Chezarro, For Carsten, Vingino, Crack, Jasper, and Vigado. “With this small but high-end selection we are able to offer some very special Holsteiner foals to our customers. I’m looking forward to this exceptional environment– the Klein Flottbek Derby has just this amazing atmosphere“, says executive director, Roland Metz.

The hybrid auction is held in the afternoon on 26 May, on the main show ground in front of the big VIP marquee. The entire lot with all photos, videos and pedigrees is already available for online viewing on www.holsteiner.auction.
