After the brilliant start of the Holsteiner foal auctions of the year 2023 at the German Derby in Hamburg, the next highlight is already on the auction calendar: On June 10, 21 foals will be looking for new owners as part of the Holsteiner Horse Days with the State Championships and the Verband Mare Show in Elmshorn.
And the collection is impressive - the candidates represent highly interesting genetics in terms of breeding and sport. For example, catalog number 1, Cappuccino by Cahil-Untouchable. The granddam of this colt sired several athletes who were successful at the highest level - among them Oak Grove's Carlyle by Casall, who won the Grand Prix of Rotterdam, Valkenswaard (NED) or the Nations Cup in Vancouver (CAN) with Daniel Coyle (IRL). The own performance of mares has become more and more in the focus of breeders in the past years and so also catalog number 9, a filly by Crack-Casall named Rosalie, can show with Canadia I.Z. a dam with successes in 1.50 meter jumping competitions under Clarissa Crotta (CHE). Chirico (catalog number 11), another Crack offspring out of a Del' Arko d'Henvet dam, rode the auction floor: This stallion is directly related to the World Cup and World Cup horse Quno by Quo Vados I, the top horse of the young Swiss rider Edouard Schmitz. Two dressage-oriented foals enrich the lot: catalog number 15 named Gucci, who is by World Champion Glamourdale (Charlotte Fry/GBR) out of a Zhivago dam. And catalog number 16, Idol by Infantino, out of a Borsalino dam and further connected through the star sire Fürstenball. The auction will be hosted in hybrid format at 4:30 pm. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Herbert Blöcker Place. Prior to the event, foals will make their first live presentation at 1:00 pm. If you are already watching the Holsteiner Horse Days live on site on Friday (June 9), the Welcome Evening invites you to linger from 8:00 pm. With live music with electric violinist Vio-Leen, gastronomic offers at the show grounds and cocktail stand with sun terrace, the evening can end in a relaxed atmosphere.
