Foal Festival in Elmshorn: Elite Auction and R+V State Foal Championships

With the Elite Foal Auction, a celebration in honor of young Holstein breeders, a youth tournament, and the R+V Holstein Foal Championship, the focus at the Holstein Association in Elmshorn on August 23 and 24, 2025, will clearly be on the next generation. Spectators are cordially invited to participate in this celebration.

The weekend will kick off with the presentation of around 60 elite foals on Saturday, August 23, at 3 p.m. The collection is now available online at www.holsteiner.auction. Afterwards, the young Holstein breeders who won the German championship title this year will receive their well-deserved congratulations from the audience during the award ceremony. At 6 p.m., the highlight of the day, the auction of the elite foals, will take place on the specially prepared Herbert Blöcker Platz. Afterwards, the purchase or sale of an elite foal and the young breeders' championship title will be celebrated in style at the party.

On Saturday, August 24, the day will begin with the young athletes: At the youth tournament starting at 8:30 a.m., young riders will find a wide range of competitions, from lead rein to show jumping. An additional highlight on Sunday is Holsteiner Children's Day, which offers games, fun, and horse enthusiasm: from a bouncy castle to pretzel biting and horseshoe painting, there is plenty for young horse fans to experience here. The R+V Holsteiner Foal Championship begins at 1:00 p.m.: The best foals from each licensing district have qualified for participation in the foal registration and will compete in Elmshorn to determine their state champions.

Admission to the entire event is free. If you are unable to attend in person, ClipMyHorse.tv will be broadcasting a live stream. Questions about the foals and the auction will be answered by Felix Flinzer (+49 162 3493942), Alexandra Bitter (+49 170 3825465), and Sigrun Günther (+49 163 2469320).
