After the auction sale is before the auction sale – before the auction sales, to be precise, with as much as two newly set up marketing platforms on the Holsteiner Verband schedule during the first two weeks in July.
One of them is a foal auction sale during the CSI*** at Hof Waterkant, the home of Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and Christoph Zimmermann in Pinneberg. “The lot comprises foals by international top sires and from proven sport performance dam lines, complemented by some foals by up-and-coming and young stallions”, knows executive director Roland Metz. Needless to say, the collection does not come without first season offspring by Janne’s promising young talent Chinchero. From Chacco Blue, Tangelo van de Zuuhthoeve, Diamant de Semilly to Chilli Willi and Don VHP, all the top level performers are in on it. The lot put to sale on Saturday, 3 July 2021 in a hybrid auction format comprises 12 foals.
Another highlight on the North German horse show calendar is scheduled only one week later in Hörup near the Danish border with the Johannsen family inviting to the second Springflut Festival held on 7-11 July at their facility. The schedule includes no less than seven jumping classes through advanced level, the grand prix at S*** level, the foal championship of the breeding district Schleswig-Flensburg and an auction sale called Holsteiner Verband meets Holsteiner Highlight Sales, which “definitely brings benefits in terms of variety to our event schedule”, according to Stephan Johannsen, the man in charge of the event. Ten foals and four four- and five-year-old riding horses selected by Roland Metz in cooperation with the organizing team are put to auction in a hybrid sale on the evening of Saturday, 10 July. “I’m thrilled to take part in the Springflut Festival. Providing the best possible support to horse shows in Schleswig-Holstein is a matter close to my heart”, says Roland Metz. The lots are by privately owned same as Verband stallions. Like for example the new Holsteiner state champion Crack, represented by as much as two offspring, whereas two foals and one of the riding horses are by Clarimo and the established names also include Varihoka du Temple, Colman, Casall or else I'm Special de Muze.
