Even though the outgoing Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH executive director, Norbert Boley, had been hoping for a direct exchange with interested visitors and breeders at his final stallion parade, the current COVID situation appears to rule out the traditional get-together in the Neumünster Holstenhall. With the curbs imposed by the state of Schleswig-Holstein to contain the virus unlikely to be relaxed within the next four weeks, the presentation of the Verband stallions is expected to be held online only. In any case, the studs are presented in good time for the beginning of the breeding season, on Saturday, 5 February 2022, starting at half past two, via ClipMyHorse.tv.
It is planned to broadcast the event live from the Elmshorn Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena, with only the free jumping of the young stallions recorded in advance for organisational reasons. “It’s a pity there won’t be a stallion parade in Neumünster in 2022 either, but last year we received a lot of positive feedback for the solid presentation of the horses in the online broadcast”, says Norbert Boley. The four-year-old and older stallions demonstrate their current training level by jumping an age-appropriate course; the event is presented by Carsten Sostmeier. All in all, almost 30 stallions are shown – the newly licensed ones performing in the free jumping chute, the younger stallions with current sport achievements jumping a course and the veteran stars in-hand. As usual, the Elmshorn rider team is given support by fellow riders from Schleswig-Holstein as well as international top riders, this year including for example the reigning German champion of the female show jumping riders, Sophie Hinners, and Olympic silver medalist Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.
The presentation is streamed free of charge on Saturday, 5 February 2022, from 2:30pm on www.clipmyhorse.tv and is available in the library afterwards.
