DescriptionCatoo boasts tremendous presence and is extremely energetic and flexible. He carries himself well and always gives the impression of a proud and sound stallion. His good rectangular frame and his appropriately built limbs round off the convincing overall impression.
Catoo's sire Con Air successfully competed at the Warendorf Bundeschampionat at 5 and 6 years old. In the following years he achieved numerous nations cup wins with the Danish team and top placings in Grand Prixs all over Europe under Lars Bak Andersen. Under the saddle of Otto Becker, he won the Hachenburg Grand Prix and was part of the winning team at the nations cup final in Madrid in 2008. Since 2009, Con Air has been shown at international level by his new owner Jose Larocca (Argentina) and competed successfully at the Kentucky World Equestrian Games in 2010.
Catoo's dam, state premium mare Flair, is 2nd dam to Canto, the champion stallion of 2004. He has left quite an impression already with his fi rst crop as his son Cantoblanco became the Neumünster champion stallion in 2008 and his daughter Crystal was top-selling 3-year-old of the 2009 Neumünster Holsteiner elite auction realizing 85.000 euros. Over three generations, Catoo's dam line has produced offspring with achievements to S level, with Lovely Boy (Norbert Koof), a son of Birkeness by the legendary Landgraf considered as the most successful representative of this mare family.
Under his rider Markus Suchalla, Catoo has had outstanding results in ridden classes. He won for example the Wedel riding horse championship and took 2nd place at the 3-year-old riding horse state championship. Winning his Schlieckau stallion performance test in 2010 was no mean feat considering that he outperformed 48 other entrants and obtained an excellent score of 141.69 index points. His rideabilty is particularly worthy of mention, earning him a 9.5, but he was also given a 9.0 for his trot, canter, willingness to work, and his free jumping as well as course jumping ability.
Under his rider and trainer Markus Suchalla Catoo became 4-year-old riding horse champion in the stallion division at the Warendorf Bundeschampionat in 2011 - an exceptional achievement for the Holsteiner breeding programme as Catoo has been the fi rst Holsteiner ever to win this title. The stallion was awarded brilliant scores (9.0 and 10.0) for his rideability from the test riders.
In 2012, Catoo performed very convincingly in young dressage horse classes, as well, and qualified for the Warendorf 5-year-old dressage horse Bundeschampionat with top marks. At 6-year-old, he qualified for the Warendorf Bundeschampionat again. By now, Markus Suchalla has continued Catoo's training and he is ready for his fi rst outings at S level.
The assessment of Catoos foals is very positive. His foal evaluation breeding value is 123 points with 134 points for the sub-index paces and impulsion.
From his first crop, Catoos Son, a very typey stallion with powerful movement has been licensed for breeding and was purchased by a successful international dressage rider at Neumünster.
